How To Craft The Best Coffee Cocktails

If you’re a coffee lover, you’ll love these delicious Percol Coffee cocktail recipes. 

It’s no secret that we’re a nation with a fondness for grown-up coffee. Legend goes that the very first espresso martini was served to supermodel Kate Moss after a long day on the catwalk – and it became an instant hit.

To celebrate all things coffee-holic, we’ve teamed up with Percol Coffee, one of our favourite London-based coffee brands, as well as Group Bar Manager Matt Ottley from The Coal Shed to bring you six caffeinated concoctions.

Matt 1

Percol has a range of organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance coffees – and they’re all utterly delicious. Meanwhile, Matt Ottley is an award-winning bar manager from The Coal Shed group with a passion for all things drinkable. Here, Percol’s Next Generation beans are used to conjure six delectable drinks.


1 The Supreme Digestif

Ingredients
35ml Premium Vodka
15ml Mr. Black’s Coffee Liqueur
15ml Demerara Syrup
Chocolate bitters
Double espresso

Method
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake well and fine strain into a coupette/martini glass


2 The Milk Dud 

Milk Dud

Ingredients
35ml Aged Rum
15ml Baileys
10ml Demerara Syrup
5ml Orgeat Syrup
15ml Condensed Milk
Double espresso

Method
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake well and strain into a hiball/Collins glass, add crushed ice.


3 The Fruit & Coffee Nut

Ingredients
25ml Praline Vermouth (Martini Rubinio infused with toasted pecans, almonds and hazelnuts)
10ml Cognac
15ml Mr. Black’s Coffee Liqueur
15ml Demerara Syrup
Pecan bitters
Double espresso

Method
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake well and fine strain into a coupette/martini glass


4 The Truffle 

The Truffle

Ingredients
1 oz. Frangelico
1 oz. Vodka
¾ oz. cold espresso

Method
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass.


5 The Wake Up Call

The Wake Up Call 

Ingredients
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. coffee
½ oz. triple sec
1 oz. milk
To garnish: three coffee beans

Method
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Garnish with three coffee beans.


6 The Beccacino

The Beccacino 

Ingredients
1 oz. brandy
½ oz. Benedictine
½ oz. amaretto
½ oz. Irish mist
2 ½ oz. chilled/cold brew coffee

Method
Built in a mixing glass and stirred. Strained into cocktail glass and topped with whipped cream if preferred.
