Gareth Ward, Chef Patron at Ynyshir, a Michelin-starred four AA rosette restaurant in Wales, will be presenting his specialty BBQ Welsh lamb rib and later his garlic prawn plate. Gareth’s menus are distinctive, working with big, bold flavours, such as miso, soy, Welsh wagyu and mackerel.

James Knappett will be showcasing a Cornish lobster starter with wild juniper, vanilla and pickled ginger, as well as a beetroot marmalade with sour cream and sweet woodruff vegetarian main course. His Michelin-starred restaurant Kitchen Table in Fitzrovia, London, focusses on daily changing 14-course tasting menus of unique, contemporary European dishes.

Mark Poynton will present his signature duck with grapefruit, carrot and pink pepper, and will end the evening with a white chocolate, raspberry and pistachio dessert. As Chef Patron of the award-winning Alimentum restaurant in Cambridge, his expertise is in global cooking techniques applied to seasonal British produce.

Guy Owen will be showcasing the best of Cornish produce, presenting a vegetarian dish of confit carrot, cottage cheese, Douglas fir and rock samphire. Many of the vegetables used during the evening will be sourced from The Lost Gardens of Heligan, who have an exclusive partnership to supply heritage varieties of produce to The Idle Rocks. Later in the evening, he will present his West Country-sourced Beef short rib with celeriac, charcoal and Thai butter.

Guy joined The Idle Rocks in July 2015, from the Driftwood hotel, and has since been responsible for transforming the kitchen brigade and menu. He champions the best of the Roseland Peninsula, working with local fishermen, greengrocers and sourcing the best meat from the area.
