3 Tuck in at Taste of London


The festive edition of the capital’s finest culinary celebration, Taste of London, is returning to the stunning Grade 1 listed Victorian splendour of Tobacco Dock from 16 -19 November. With so much to celebrate in London’s thriving restaurant scene, the festival has been specially curated to showcase all that the capital has to offer as a gourmet global destination.

Visitors will enjoy festive tipples and take part in hands-on masterclasses where they can learn how to create an impressive dish or shake up a cocktail or two ahead of the party season. Plus, there are more than 100 of the UK’s finest gourmet producers to sample and shop.

This year’s Taste of London will shine a light on the talented chefs leading the charge in bolstering London’s reputation as culinary capital of the world. Heroes of modern cuisine, including Ollie Dabbous (Henrietta), Jackson Boxer (Brunswick House), Lee Westcott (Typing Room), Sebby Holmes (Farang) and Sam Kamienko (Ellory) are all set to cook up a storm live on stage at the AEG Taste Theatre in association with Etihad Airway.

4 Enjoy a night of sophisticated screenings and sipping at 69 Colebrooke Row 


Tony Conigliaro’s world renowned bar, 69 Colebrooke Row, will take over the iconic Everyman Screen on the Green in Islington to present a screening of the new film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express’ with drinks and live music inspired by the era.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, this star-studded adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic depicts the story of the punctilious Hercule Poirot (Branagh) as he attempts to identify the murderer on The Orient Express. Hailed as one of the greatest murder mysteries of all time, Murder on the Orient Express perfectly suits the stylised, film noir aesthetic of both 69 Colebrooke Row, and The Everyman Cinema, which is modelled on the style of the classic 1950s cinema.

69 Colebrooke Row mixologists, accompanied by live music, will take over Screen On the Green from 8pm serving up three bespoke cocktails inspired by the film; the Lipstick Rose, made with raspberry and rose vodka and topped with champagne; the Blenheim Gimlet: Gin, Black pepper cordial; and the 69 Vintage Manhattan, made with aged American whiskey, Italian vermouth, Maraschino liqueur and aromatic bitters. The band will entertain the bar with the sound of jazz and swing throughout the drinks reception, setting the tone ahead of the film screening at 9pm.

5 Find your 25th hour with Freedom Brewery


According to research,  75%* of Brits saying they would love an extra hour. However, Freedom Brewery revealed three quarters of UK adults say there are not enough hours in the day, and yet 8 out of 10 of us admit to knowingly wasting time on pointless activities. To help inspire people to find their 25th hour, Freedom Brewery will be hosting a range of activities across London on 8th November.

What’s more, consumers are welcome to join the team for a pint of Freedom Lager from 6pm, with the first 50 customers at each venue receiving a complimentary pint of Freedom.

6 Celebrate 10 years of Roux at The Landau


To commemorate the 10th anniversary year of Roux at The Landau, The Langham, London is delighted to host a one-off evening event to celebrate. On Friday 24th November, three generations of Roux chefs will be cooking in the Roux at The Landau kitchen together for the very first time.

Father and son team Albert Roux OBE and Michel Roux Jr will be joined by Michel’s daughter Emily for an unforgettable dream team effort to create a delectable five-course tasting menu. Corney & Barrow are proud to sponsor this auspicious event. 7 Get cheesy at the London Cheese Project


On 4th and 5th November, the grounds of the Geffrye Musuem will be transformed into a celebration of all things cheese, as The Cheese Truck founder Mathew Carver and the London Cheese Project team return for their second instalment. Setting up at their new East London home, the two-day festival will shine a light on the new generation of young, passionate producers, retailers and street food operators that are breathing new life into the industry.

Visitors will get the chance to meet and buy directly from cheesemakers and mongers such as Gringa Dairy and Cannon & Cannon whilst sampling some of the best street food from The Cheese Truck and Raclette Bros. What’s more, enjoy expert talks and tastings focusing on British New-Wave Cheeses and the Raw Milk Revolution.

8 Get steamy at Southbank Centre 


Love a sauna experience? Forget the gym – the Queen Elizabeth Roof Gardens will be home to a Finnish sauna this winter.  Taking place as part of Southbank Centre’s Wintertime festivities, the sauna will offer views of both the river and the London skyline.

There will also be changing and showering facilities, plus warming winter drinks at The Rooftop Bar for a little added indulgence.

9 Join Adam Handling and Vivek Singh for a fusion feast


Adam and Vivek will be joining forces at The Frog E1 to fuse the best of Indian and modern British tastes, bringing them to East London for a spectacular event that will be the closing chapter to the two-part dinner series.

The evening will begin with canapés that convey both chefs’ love for vibrant flavours including Adam’s Burnt Beef alongside Vivek’s Lamb Seekh Roomali. Guest will then be treated to an exclusive five-course menu that combines the very best flavours of East and West, alongside matched wines.


Dishes include spice crusted hake with bitter melon relish, celeriac, yolk, apple, dates,  halibut and crab hollandaise and a delectable chocolate, cherries and malt dessert.

12 Shake things up with a cocktail masterclass at Minnow

Clapham Common’s neighbourhood restaurant, Minnow, will be throwing open their doors every Tuesday evening, inviting guests behind the bar to shake things up and try their hand at mixing some cocktails.

Hosted by Minnow’s resident cocktail expert, Marco Giovanelli, every week will focus on a different cocktail inspired by a Clapham landmark or a famous Clapham character including The Temperance Fountain and Natsume Sosēki. Marco will take guests on a whirlwind journey of the local area, with the opportunity to go behind the counter and hone their skills. Once cocktails are shaken and stirred, Head Chef Jake Boyce will create accompanying bar snacks to compliment the evening’s drinks.

13 Try the Dassai X Cubé masterclass 


Cubé in Mayfair is hosting a five-course showcase to highlight the fantastic flavours of Dassai sake, including Dassai Nigori, Dessai Nigori, 50, 39, 23 and the extraordinary Beyond which retails at around £1000.

Highlights from the paired menu include a selection of five Sashimi chosen by head chef Osamu Mizuno (previously of Nobu and Sake no Hana) alongside Asari Clam Sakamushi, Beef Tataki and Negi-Toro Maki.

14 Marvel at Georgina von Etzdorf’s Pickett Showcase

Georgina von Etzdorf first met the inimitable Trevor Pickett in Burlington Arcade selling men’s and womenswear accessories. Within moments they became friends and then collaborators; Trevor Pickett was ‘the vital and hilarious ingredient in establishing the Georgina von Etzdorf brand in retail’. To celebrate the many years of their friendship and collaborations, Pickett will be hosting a four day pop up event to showcase the textile accessories and design classics from the Georgina von Etzdorf collections.

A world renowned British textile designer, Georgina is considered one of the greatest textile, printmakers and designers of the twentieth century. Their work features in the V & A, The Smithsonian and Cooper Hewitt, leading to Georgina von Etzdorf’s being one of the most influential designers of the second half of the 20th century.

The eponymous fashion label is famous for its luxurious velvet scarves, home-ware and clothing accessories. Georgina von Etzdorf is also widely admired for their skill in printing and experimenting with texture and technique on what is considered more difficult fabric such as textured chiffon, fine cashmeres and satin, using a print table specifically made by themselves, to make individual screens resulting in a product exclusive to each client.

The resulting luxurious and eclectic fashion products have opened the options for the way both men and women dress today, so what better place to exhibit this November, for four days only, at one of London’s most sought after luxury brands, Pickett.
