Ping Coombes’ Breakfast Club Is Back

Worth setting your alarm for – Masterchef winner Ping Coombes’ Breakfast Club is returning to Chi Kitchen this January

Oxford Street’s Chi Kitchen is delighted to announce that MasterChef champion Ping Coombes’ Breakfast Club will be back by popular demand, starting on Sunday 21st January.

On the third Sunday of each month, Ping will host her Breakfast Club at Chi Kitchen and create an ever-changing set menu, exploring traditional dishes of South East Asia; all inspired by her Malaysian roots but with a personal twist.

In 2014, Ping Coombes became a household name when she was crowned winner of BBC’s Masterchef whilst showcasing her knowledge of traditional Malaysian and South East Asian cuisine. She has since been busy travelling around the world as a Malaysia Kitchen Ambassador, releasing her debut cookbook Malaysia: Recipes from a Family Kitchen and working Executive Chef at Chi Kitchen.

The monthly Breakfast Club includes a three-course feast of traditional Malaysian breakfast dishes with a focus on comfort food.

What’s on the menu:
• Eggs and Kaya Toast, a typical breakfast dish from Malaysia, combining perfectly cooked soft eggs and a sweet coconut based jam.
• Hainanese Chicken Rice, a favourite in South East Asia consisting of poached chicken served with fragrant rice, sliced cucumber and Ping’s homemade spicy chili sauce.
• For dessert guests can enjoy Kuih dadar/ Kuih ketayapm; a pandan pancake filled with coconut palm sugar.

Chi Kitchen is a contemporary Pan-Asian restaurant offering tasty, colourful and exotic dishes that are both MSG-free and Halal.
