Detox Dining: Royal Harbour Hotel Hosts January Vegan Pop-Up

Following the success of its previous summer vegan pop-up supper club, the Empire Room restaurant, located in Ramsgate’s award-winning Royal Harbour Hotel, is set to host a special vegan weekend full of mouth-watering and healthy treats this January.

Ideal for those seeking a detox after their Christmas feasting (whilst still enjoying delicious meals) guest vegan chefs and food bloggers Alexandra and Caroline Cadell will treat visitors to a host of meat-free delights with two evening events. As well as being renowned for their vegan cookery, the pair are top food bloggers and additionally founded ‘Food For Life, Italy’ – group-based residential courses based in rural Italy that teach how to enjoy food and lose weight at the same time.

Those attending the supper clubs at the quirky townhouse hotspot will be welcomed with a glass of prosecco before the sisters give a short introductory talk to veganism. The duo will also be available throughout the meal to answer questions and provide useful cooking tips.

Starters will include a choice of hearty bruschetta or or a traditional Italian ribollita, a hearty Tuscan warming soup perfect for cold January evenings.

Mains will feature a vibrant Potato and Chick Pea Chaat filled with hot and sour spices; a Chilli Sans Carne – a fat-free perennial favourite; or a pasta dish featuring trendy smoked aubergine with a Mediterranean sauce. For dessert, diners can indulge with a winter Fruit Crumble or Torta Zucchini.

Hotel owner James Thomas commented: “Our initial vegan pop-up proved so popular, we have decided to host another. A number of our regular omnivorous customers also mentioned undertaking a meat-free detox regime in January – so this is an ideal opportunity to repeat the offering.”
