Learn code and sip on cocktails at the same time with  Sanderson‘s new series of tech-focused events.

Offering female Londoners the chance to dip their toe into the world of tech, Sanderson is set to embark on a series of tech-based events. The iconic hotel will first play host to a panel discussion with some key female players in London’s tech industry – as well as offering an introduction to the so-called ‘dark art’ of coding, via two exclusive coding-focused workshops.

Taking place on 25th April, a ‘Women in Tech’ themed panel discussion will launch the partnership, with Holly Brockwell, editor of female-focused tech website Gadgette.com, chairing proceedings.

Discussing subjects such as ‘How are women best placed to get into tech?’, ‘How can men help and support women in tech?’ and ‘Is coding essential to success?’ – Holly will be joined by fellow panelists Rupinder Garcha (Programmes Manager at Code First: Girls), Irina Tsyganok (Software Engineer  at YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP) and Alison Levy (CMO of Launchmetrics); to tackle the burning issue of the imbalance between the ratio of men to women in tech. The discussion will end with a live Q&A and the chance to network.

Following the launch event, Code First: Girls will be hosting ‘Cocktails & Coding’ sessions. Exploring topics such as ‘What is the WWW, how does it work and how is it created?’, ‘What is coding and what does HTML code look like?’ and ‘What is HTTP and how do you make a webpage?’ – these workshops will give guests insight and advice in a relaxed environment, with Sanderson’s Long Bar mixologists on hand to rustle up some cocktails for guests to enjoy.
