Anyone for a spot of bubbly? Sopwell House is hosting a Taittinger Champagne feast this November for a night of spectacular Champagne celebrations 

Champagne flutes at the ready! This November, The Restaurant at Sopwell House is hosting a glamorous four-course tasting dinner with Taittinger Champagne – and you can join the feast.

Head Chef of The Restaurant, Matthew Bird, has devised a innovative menu to showcase the importance of drinks pairings with different dishes. A stunning 18th Century Georgian house located in the quaint village of St. Albans, Sopwell House will provide the perfect setting for the elegant occasion.

The evening will commence with a canapé reception, followed by an imaginative four-course tasting menu, before concluding with coffee and petit fours. Exhibiting French flair, the menu includes Ballotine of Duck Foie Gras, apple and blackberry chutney and toasted brioche; Poached and grilled guinea fowl, mousseline potato, and charred leeks; and Salted honey cake, bergamot cremeaux, and a crisp apple sorbet.

Sopwell House Dessert

Each course will be expertly matched with a different Taittinger Champagne, ranging from the Brut Reserve with the first course; to the Prestige Rosé with the dessert.

What’s more, wine specialist John Ferguson-Smith will be the guest speaker at the event; using his 20 years of experience in the industry to showcase his favourite recommendations and passion for wine.
