1 Tempt your tastebuds with Tate Britain’s truffle dinner

Chef Rex Whistler at Tate Britain is teaming up with professional forager, Fred Gillam, for a one off evening featuring the very best autumnal truffles, mushrooms and cheeses.

Fred the Forager, as he is affectionately known, has 35 years of experience scavenging for his supper and runs award-winning herb and foraging courses. Alongside insights from Fred into the foraging world, cheesemongers Paxton & Whitfield will also talk about their great British cheese,,

Rex Whistler Head Chef Garrett Keown has created a selection of exceptional dishes, giving guests the chance to experience black and white truffles over four indulgent courses.

2 Indulge with the Searcys and Laurent-Perrier Afternoon Tea Experience

Searcys and Laurent-Perrier Champagne have teamed up to a bubbly-filled luxurious afternoon tea in London on the 21st and 22nd October.

With a strong focus on the Champagne and Searcys heritage, the luxury afternoon tea experience, guided by a charming Victorian Butler, is a celebration of all things luxurious.

Featuring a champagne fountain, Lauren-Perrier experts to pair the afternoon tea offering with champagnes, and a riddling challenge (a tried and true method for ensuring a champagne holds a clear, crisp colour), this immersive experience also allows some guests to win their very own magnum bottle of Laurent-Perrier.

When: 21st and 22nd of October from 1pm-3pm and 4pm-6pm.

3 Sample special beers at Rotunda Bar & Restaurant

If you love beer, you’ll love Rotunda Bar & Restaurant’s first ever Beer Festival and special beer-filled menu. From 5 October until 11 November, Rotunda will be adding an extensive range of beers to their bar menu, alongside a menu of four homemade sausages, created by their in-house butcher, Claus.

Every Thursday throughout the event, guests will be able to taste a range of beers with the bar manager and try the sausages with Claus. Then, on the 20th October, beer lovers can indulge with an all day celebration.

4 Enjoy weekly music nights at K Bar

The K Bar at The Kensington is delighted to announce its new series of weekly music nights, The K Bar Sessions – with The Botanist.  Each Thursday, guests are invited to enjoy a range of exclusive Botanist Gin Cocktails against a backdrop of delightful music from new acts and genres each week.

The menu offers a range of treats, including the Islay High Ball (The Botanist, Nori Cordial, sod) and Lord of the Isles (The Botanist, Velvet Falernum liqueur, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, sugar syrup, Rhubarb bitters, egg white). Each drink is priced at £12.50.

Setting the standard on opening night on Thursday 5th will be ‘Oriana & The Charmers’, a London-based band who specialise in French Chanson and Swing.

This November the British Lung Foundation (BLF) is asking people across the country to organise a Big Breakfast and join the fight against lung disease. Kick-starting your day by organising a BLF Big Breakfast will help fund vital research and support the one in five people in the UK affected by lung disease.

The UK’s leading lung health charity is encouraging friends, families and colleagues all over the country to celebrate the most important meal of the day, throughout November. Whether it’s indulging in your favourite fruit, cereal or pastry with workmates, a simple continental breakfast with neighbours, or treating yourself to a fry-up with friends and charging a small fee, there’s an option for everyone.

As Oktoberfest fever comes to London this autumn, the team behind Brixton Rooftop are offering an alternative to those who are looking for a bit more bite to their bratwurst.

As the winter nights draw in, Brixton Beach is hanging up its speedos and swapping it for woolly Lederhosen at the opening weekend of their winter structure on Thursday 12th, Friday 13th and Saturday 14th October.

Boasting the biggest selection of stein served beverages south of the river, no Oktoberfest celebration would be complete without a hand-picked variety of craft beers. For those who think beer is a bore, steins of cocktails or prosecco are also on offer. Drinks will be served by ‘Bearded wenches at the benches’ for those looking for a saucier stein server.

The now renowned food traders at Brixton Rooftop will be dishing up their take on Bavarian classics, as they welcome back Mac to The Future, The Lambassdors and a special appearance by Herman Ze German all competing for your deutsche mark.

8 Join top chefs for a beefy feast in Cornwall

1000 Mouths will take place over four consecutive days from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 October, with 12 feasts in total on Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall.

Taking place from the 5th – 8th October, leading chefs James Knappett, Ben Tish, Gill Meller and Andy Appleton will be joined by teams from River Cottage, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall and Hawksmoor at Nancarrow Farm near Truro for “1,000 Mouths”.

The event aims to feed 1,000 guests over four days from a single traditional breed Red Devon bullock reared on the farm. In doing so, Nancarrow hopes to highlight its ethos of sustainable food production, whilst also raising funds for the global charity Action Against Hunger. See full event details here.

9 Enjoy a pasta feast with Fortnum & Mason and Angela Hartnett

From October 5th, Fortnum & Mason’s famous food hall will become home to exceptional fresh Cafe Murano pasta and sauces, created by acclaimed chef Angela Hartnett herself. To celebrate, the  collaboration is kicking off with a very special pasta supper hosted in The Gallery restaurant, where all year round, the fresh and seasonal ingredients of the Food Hall are profiled.

Angela will be cooking a sharing-style menu on the restaurant floor for customers to feast upon. Four courses will feature canapés – salami, arancini and salt cod fritters – and a starter of both pumpkin and amaretti tortellini with sage butter, and rigatoni with wild mushroom ragout.

The main event will be a braised beef polenta and the feast will be closed with a delicious walnut cake with mascarpone cream. Each course will be expertly paired with Italian wines from Fortnum’s esteemed cellar.
