London’s Tipples Triumph At World’s 50 Best Bars Awards

London proved its worth as the globe’s cocktail capital at the World’s 50 Best Bars awards, with eight bars featured on 2017’s coveted list and four within the top 10 spots

Whilst the American Bar at the Savoy took the top tipple title for the first time, with Ryan Chetiyawardana’s Dandelyan coming in a close second, the Connaught Bar retained its rank as 4th best in the world and Soho spot Bar Termini rocketed 21 places to claim ninth.

Hoxton’s Happiness Forgets was awarded 12th place, while Oriole came in at 17 and The Gibson made 21 (a drop from 6 last year). Nightjar, Oriole’s sister bar, also reached number 43.

This was the fifth year the awards have been in hosted in London – with the coveted list chosen by a panel of over 500 anonymous drinks specialists across six of the world’s seven continents.
